Last days of skiing continue to be fast and exhilarating. You have to get started before 9, but it will make your heart sing! After skiing these same trails every winter for 12 years, I still stop to admire the beauty. The Rendezvous system is the best right now, but check out this little slice of Mazama. I can’t believe I live here.
Natural Beauty
Winter Sunny Winthrop
20 degrees, shining bright and snowy. It’s why I live in the Methow Valley!
Proper Snowstorm- Gentle, Quiet, Thrilling
20 Perfect Seconds (with me and my finger) in the Winthrop Sun
Every now and then there is a perfect moment. This one lasted for about 20 seconds. Join me and my finger.
October is Happening in Winthrop (and I suppose elsewhere)
Cool breeze, warm sun, October leaves. Come and check out the color change in action. It has already started turning the undergrowth and cottonwoods to gold. Watch as the aspens and river maple turn next starting in Mazama now and creeping towards Methow by the third week in October. Smell the leaf decay, ride your bike, drink a beer. Drink another beer.
Wolf Creek Exploring
Just another day in the Methow Valley. Exploring Wolf Creek frontage in Forest Service land. Some sunny beachy banks, some deep dunking holes, some dense Western Cedar groves, some echoing cliff canyons, some narrow vegetated channels. All here for you to discover, and eat a sandwich with someone you like. Or your dog. You always like your dog.
