Smoke is Gone, Where Are You?
All it takes is one day of blue skies to put in context how much it sucks when smoke is here! Blue and sunny skies all around. Fall colors peeping out. Get your hike or mountain bike on. Come visit the Methow Valley.
Labor Day Chillaxin on Patterson Lake
15 minute drive from my house, 6 pack, and a cheap kayak. One more reason why living here is AWESOME.
Methow Me Up! Floating on a HOT HOT July Day
You have a small window where the river is slow enough to float, but not too low. And the weather is hot enough for your feet and bottom to handle the glacially fed headwaters of the Methow. And I nailed it! No technical prowess or expensive gear needed. The river takes you as you are. Occasionally you may fall out of your raft or have to walk. This is why I live here!
Mom’s can do it too! Meadowlark Natural Area is AWESOME
Showing you views from my 2.5 mile loop hike, just outside Winthrop city limits. It’s the kind of access to nature and beauty that enables people trying to walk on a lunch break or busy moms ability to participate. I know, you thought you had to be retired or on vacation to actually see nature. I feel that way ALL the time. Check this out though, it’s for real.
A public access parking area and trailhead can be found just to the south of the Sullivan Cemetery in Winthrop.
Dogs on leash okay, no biking.
Business As Usual- Nature NOT focusing on COVID
What a relief- just when you thought you would explode if you read one more thing about Covid-19, you look over the bridge and see that nature just doesn’t care. She is going about her change of seasons as she always has. I personally can’t wait to see each and every one of you back in this valley exploring and recreating and relaxing.
