Fall has peaked in Mazama and is moving its vibrant yellows and reds south towards Pateros. Familiar and pleasing leaf decay is thick in the air and that late afternoon sun is hot and golden. Every season brings us a visual feast and stays long enough for you to love it, get tired of it, and look forward to the next change. Reason #563 that I love living in the Methow Valley.

The Methow Valley has weathered quite a fire season, but we are on the other side and absolutely basking in a perfect late summer vibe. Clear skis, high 70 days, sunny weather to get your mind and heart rate pumping in nature. In case you have seen or heard someplace that we have burned down- it’s NOT TRUE. I am envisioning a stretched out late summer early fall vibe coming our way. The state parks are reopening again(check WA state parks website for park specific alerts), north cascades highway is back open. You do have to wear a mask in a grocery store again….but I am looking at the bright side 🙂 Lot’s of new listings come on in September. It’s a great month to mix business with pleasure.

It seems fake every year, but it’s still a real thing. WILDFLOWER central with blue skies and snow capped mountains. Yes, it seems as fake as it did last year, but only better. Because COVID is almost over and I might make it to the end of the tunnel! If you feel the same way, grab your mountain bike or hiking shoes and brainwash the last year out of your head in these hills.

Only 15 minutes from Twisp. You may not be rubbing elbows with the rich and famous, but if you can let that go the Loup is AWESOME. Your ski gear is so last decade anyhow. Seldom do you have to wait in line. It is close and it is affordable. Open Wed, Fri, Sat and Sundays. When Nordic skiing just isn’t making you feel plucky enough. Enter the LOUP.
