I love those big blue sky days, but mysterious moody works for me too! When I posted my “first snowfall” video mid November, I never thought it would stick around, but the snow is still fabulous and still here. Winter play may be on for another 2 months, so come and get it! Ice skate, sled, snow shoe, ice fish, nordic, and downhill skiing are rocking it hard.
Walking the Patterson Lake Trail on a sunny May day NEVER gets old. I live 15 minutes from this trail head. You can get an attitude reset in every single season. Just one more reason I love living in the Methow Valley. You can see how close the Cedar Creek fire came to Sun Mountain Lodge in this video.
I know this seems totally fake, but you can still ski on great Methow nordic Trails if you do it in the morning. Admittedly, we are in the last days, but it is pretty surreal to zip by on snow and watch bits of green starting to pop in the landscape all around you. Enjoying the last of winter as we welcome a new season. Four robust and completely different seasons is part of what makes the Methow Valley such an awesome place to live. YES my thumb is over part of the camera. Gheesh

Last days of skiing continue to be fast and exhilarating. You have to get started before 9, but it will make your heart sing! After skiing these same trails every winter for 12 years, I still stop to admire the beauty. The Rendezvous system is the best right now, but check out this little slice of Mazama. I can’t believe I live here.
